The very beautiful stone bridge which crosses the Tesina at the level of Torri di Quartesolo is quite probably the fruit of a Palladian idea dating from 1569, but only executed eleven years later, when building works were conducted under the supervision of Domenico Groppino, a habitual collaborator of Palladio. Evidently the model was the bridge of Augustus at Rimini, particularly admired by Palladio, from which derive the elegant tabernacles set against the piers.
Although quite heavily modified in a later period, this bridge over the Tesina remains the only one designed by Palladio in masonry which has survived until our times.
